| Sponsored by Norfolk and installed at the Norfolk Weekend in 1953, North Carolina became the 8th Chapter of the National Association of Guardsmen, Inc. In 1954, North Carolina hosted its first weekend which was attended by 75% of the membership. Leroy Swift was the first Chapter president. |
