Guardsmen Logo Manhattan Chapter
President: VALENTINE J. BURROUGHS, MD
The Guardsmen idea was conceived at the "Red Rooster" owned and operated by George Woods, one of the charter members of the Manhattan Chapter. The idea picked up steam at the Theresa Hotel which was managed by William H. Brown. Guidance was given by James "Chum" Reid, and in 1951, the Manhattan Chapter was finalized and became another link in the Guardsmen chain.
